2018 Battle of the Books

Every year, Hancock County Public Library’s Teen Services hosts Battle of the Books. Schools from around the county are invited to form a team of 8th and 9th graders to participate in a trivia-style competition that covers 10 books that are chosen by the Teen Services Librarian.

If your team wins Battle, bragging rights will not be the only prize you take home. The winning team gets to take the traveling Battle of the Books trophy to keep until next year. Also, each team member’s name will be etched on a plate that will be added to the Teen Room Battle of the Books plaque. In addition, each member of the winning team will also get to take home a gift card and a prize book.

This year’s competition will be held on Wednesday, April 18th, 2018. If you are currently in 8th or 9th grade and are interested in participating, either contact the Teen Services Librarian through the Teen Services contact form or talk to your school’s Battle of the Book coach.
