Some Awesome Things You Should Know…

First of all – IT’S FRIDAY! I know I’m looking forward to getting outside with one of the 50 new books I’ve been waiting to read! If you are like me, come in and check out something new or an old favorite.

We’ve even got books for laughs – Because after an entire week of testing, you probably need it!

Second, I just met with the awesome Teen Library Council yesterday afternoon, and we have been putting together activities for our annual summer Teens Read the Way program. If you’ve never been part of this event – This is the year to join! The program pairs teens with reading buddies ages 3-5th grade. Buddies read for 30 minutes in the children’s room, then we all gather together after to do a fun early literacy activity for another 30 minutes. Child participants in the program get weekly reading incentives and gain a new reading mentor. Teen participants get to make a difference in a local child’s life! We also have a party at the end for the children and teen volunteers. Everyone wins! Teens – come to our Annual Pizza Taste-Off and sign up to be part of our amazing Teens Read the Way Program. You can participate at our Main Branch and at the Sugar Creek Branch starting in June!

Reading and Pizza – YAY!

Third, anyone interested in acting or working on a movie set should be part of our summer student film – Which will be premiered on a huge drive-in-size screen! (Yes, we have an outdoor summer movie series coming your way!) Students are writing, shooting, directing, and staging this movie. Interested in joining? Stop in at the Sugar Creek Branch on May 22 – Or contact me @, and we’ll get you set up.

Finally, summer reading is coming up at the end of the month! Come to the library (main or Sugar Creek) on May 31 to sign up, grab your books, and start winning chances for a Chromebook, $100 to Walmart, and 2 tix to King’s Island!

See you soon!

Sarah, currently reading Roses by G.R. Mannering & Attack on Titan. 2 by Hajime Isayama & listening to Wayne of Gotham by Tracy Hickman
