Policy on Volunteers

The Hancock County Public Library's volunteer program is designed to assist staff, promote services, and create educational opportunities. All volunteers are matched to a department by the Volunteer Coordinator and trained by staff. A criminal history check is done on all volunteers over the age of 18 and out of high school. Criminal history checks are not required for the Friends of the Library workers at their book sales. Positions may change and are offered on an as-needed basis. To see available options, visit our employment/volunteer page.
