Get a backstage pass with HCPLibrary’s Behind the Scenes Hancock series! This time we’re heading back to Tuttle Orchards for an inside look at apple production. On this guided tour, you’ll explore areas normally closed to the public, including cold storage, the grader, and cider-making facilities. The tour involves about 30 minutes of walking indoors and offers a unique opportunity to learn about apple growing and what happens after the harvest.
Behind the Scenes Hancock is an adults-only series designed to give community members a chance to discover the inner workings of local businesses and organizations—without having to chaperone a school field trip!
Meeting Location: Please meet at Tuttle Orchards’ U-Pick barn (west side of the street) by 1:50 PM for the 2:00 PM tour.
Transportation is not provided.
Registration is required for this limited-capacity event. If your plans change, please cancel so others on the waiting list can attend.
NOTE FROM TUTTLES:
Currently there are two roundabouts that are being constructed that have roads closed in route to Tuttles. The road is closed at 600N and Olio/Mt Comfort Road affecting people coming from Fishers/McCordsville/Oaklandon, and more! Another road is closed at 300 North and Fortville Pike affecting those coming from I70 and Greenfield. Please be SURE you are using your GPS to get the route to Tuttles and not going on "how we've come in the past and know the way" as a lot of the regular routes to Tuttles don't work at the moment. Also, be sure to allow some extra time to get to the farm with the construction.
