Get Crafty!

Giving gifts is part of the winter holiday season and finding thoughtful gifts for friends and family is always a challenge. To completely dominate this year’s challenge of gift giving, you should make your gift. Here is why:

  1. Its inexpensive, possibly even free.
  2. Its says “I like you enough to spend some time on you.”
  3. It subtly brags about your awesome artistic skills.
  4. You can customize the craft for the person.
  5. Crafting is FUN!

Now, I bet you are like, “I want to do this! But what should I make?!?!” Well, my friends, the Hancock County Public Library has you covered. Below are some books that you can check out to get your creative juices flowing:

Mindy McGinnis Gives Us Recommendations

During our YA Author Festival earlier this year, nine authors, including author Mindy McGinnis, joined us for panels, workshops, hang out sessions, book signings and a trivia contest. Mindy is a very passionate trivia team leader, in case you were wondering.
She not only gave us good advice on writing and getting published, but she also told us some of her favorite books from our shelves (besides her own, of course)!

After you read her newest book to hit our shelves, The Female of the Species, check out more of her recommendations!Untitled design (1)
